RAKESHBHAKRE
I'm a software developer who ships. I build backends in Java + Spring Boot, full products in MERN, and I have a weird love for real-time computer vision that runs at 20 FPS on a plain CPU. I built a traffic-violation engine that became a published research paper, and I'm building a security scanner that real clients actually run.

I build. I ship.
A quick decompile of the human behind the commits — in my own words.
I'm Rakesh Ganesh Bhakre — a final-year Computer Engineering student at Smt. Indira Gandhi College of Engineering (Mumbai University, class of 2026) and a software developer who'd rather have a thing running in production than a thing described in a slide deck.
My first professional code shipped at Quibits IT Solutions, where I spent six months building web app features in Java · Spring Boot · React.js. I designed REST APIs, wired the frontend to the backend, and built responsive dashboards for reporting and user management — all inside a Git + Agile team.
Since then I've gone deeper into two lanes. First, secure backend engineering: I'm currently building a client-facing vulnerability assessment platform that orchestrates OpenGrep, OSV-Scanner and GitLeaks behind a single API. Second, applied computer vision: I built a YOLOv8 + DeepSORT traffic surveillance system, and the work was published as a research paper.
Before I wrote code full-time, I ran live events — 50+ of them, for clients including Amazon and Microsoft, leading teams of up to 30 people. I learned that debugging a production incident and debugging a 500-person event at 11 PM use exactly the same muscle. That's where my line comes from: Pressure is a Privilege.
Right now I'm grinding DSA in Java and system design, and I'm open to SDE-1 / Backend / Full-Stack roles.

Vulnerability Assessment System
Freelance · Client Project · 2026 → Present
● In production
Security
- I'm building an end-to-end platform that automates SAST, dependency-vulnerability and secret scanning across a client's source code — orchestrating OpenGrep, OSV-Scanner and GitLeaks behind one API.
- I wrote the Node.js / Express backend: secure source-code intake and sandboxed processing, scanner orchestration, result normalisation and aggregation, MongoDB persistence, and generated security reports.
- I built the React.js dashboard: live scan progress, vulnerability analytics by severity, drill-down findings, full scan history and downloadable reports.
- I designed it for actual end users, not a demo — and I ship it iteratively against client feedback.

Intelligent Traffic Surveillance System
Computer Vision · 2025 · Published Research
📄 Published paper
Real-time
- I built a system that detects 5 distinct traffic violations from live CCTV / RTSP streams, using YOLOv8 for detection and DeepSORT to track each vehicle across frames.
- I applied homography to map the image plane onto the road plane, so I could estimate speed with only ~3.2 km/h of error.
- I wrote an HSV-based traffic-signal state detector and a rule engine that holds 18–22 FPS on CPU alone — no GPU needed to deploy it.
- I added a number-plate OCR pipeline with EasyOCR, served through FastAPI with SQLite evidence storage.
- I wrote the work up and it was published as a research paper.

RestoQR — Restaurant Ordering & Ops Platform
Independent Product · 2026 → Present
● Active users
- I contribute to a real platform with live users, covering the full restaurant loop: QR ordering → kitchen display → POS → billing → admin.
- I built and refined end-to-end workflows that cut manual steps for both diners and staff, improving turnaround across customer and restaurant operations.
- I iterate on real operational feedback from a running business — not on a spec doc.

Construction Cost & Timeline Estimator
MERN · Multiverse of Tech Hackathon
🏆 I won · ~40 teams
- I built a MERN application that takes a 3D model and estimates material requirements, cost and construction timeline from its geometry.
- I built it under hackathon time pressure and won first place against ~40 teams at Smt. Indira Gandhi College of Engineering.
- I turned a messy, spreadsheet-driven estimation process into a few clicks.

Real Estate Hub / Kawai Virtual Assistant
My side builds · TypeScript & Python
- Real Estate Hub — I built a TypeScript property-listing web app where users browse, filter and explore listings, on a clean component architecture.
- Kawai — I built a desktop virtual assistant in Python: voice and text commands via the Google Speech API, pyttsx3 text-to-speech, a Tkinter GUI, web search, media playback and system control.

05 // my achievements
My receipts, not my claims.
Everything here is something I actually did, with a date and a witness.
🏆
I won a hackathon
I took first place at the Multiverse of Tech Hackathon, Smt. Indira Gandhi College of Engineering, against ~40 teams — with a MERN app for 3D-model-based construction estimation.
📄
I published research
My Intelligent Traffic Surveillance System — YOLOv8 + DeepSORT violation detection with homography speed estimation — was written up and published as a research paper.
🎪
I ran 50+ events, zero meltdowns
I coordinated 50+ large-scale events for clients including Amazon and Microsoft, leading volunteer teams of up to 30. That was live-ops pressure, before I knew it was called on-call.
🚢
I ship to real users
Two of the things I'm building right now — a security scanning platform and a restaurant ops platform — are used by real clients and real customers, not just by graders.
Pressure is a privilege.
— it's the line on my GitHub profile, and it's why I keep shipping
